Glenn Swift – Storyteller

Storyteller Glenn B. Swift reveals these and many other secrets as he entertains adults and children of all ages.

Since 1988 Glenn has built a most enviable reputation of excellence in his craft, and an ability to respond to a diversity of cultural and developmental needs in his audience, making him Western Australia’s most in demand storyteller and the first choice of Children’s Specialist Librarians from Albany to Broome. Satisfied audiences range from Year 6/7 and above (icky stories – sometimes VERY icky stories!) to Pre-Primary (Loud – sometimes VERY loud! Lots of participation) and all ages in between and beyond.

He is equally at home in a school, library, theatre or as an after-dinner speaker.

Thank you for your fantastic performance for the Ghosts and Goblins storytime at Joondalup Public Library. The children enjoyed meeting 'Sir William Palfrey'. Later that evening, a mum phoned up to say her child had not stopped talking about the great time they had.

Glenn has an enormous repertoire of participation style stories aimed particularly at junior primary. He will have your K/PP/1/2s screaming on cue and laughing like drains. For mid-primary there are many stories with opportunities for acting out roles. Sometimes the shyest in the class will suddenly put up their hand and shine.

For older primary and High School, stories are carefully crafted to have even the most jaded hanging on the edge of their seats. Reluctant readers are engaged and introduced to the magic of text reading through a storytelling experience.

Glenn also has programmes for Christmas, Halloween, Easter, WA Week, etc. His programme of Ghost Stories is particularly popular with ages 9 to adult , and with just a little historical information, he can tailor-make a Ghost Story to become part of your local lore!

Renaissance Storyteller

Glenn appears regularly for the Art Gallery of WA. His costumed character Storyteller from Renaissance Italy, accompanied The Corsini Collection in 2018.

Glenn is happy to travel anywhere in Western Australia and beyond! He performs in Carnarvon, Albany, Denmark, Walpole, Bunbury, Capel, Collie, Port Hedland, Busselton, Margaret River, Geraldton, Kununurra, Kalgoorlie, Katanning, Kardinya and will go to Kathmandu.

Glenn’s exuberant performance style means audience numbers of 100 or more are no problem at all.
